This book is one of ‘The Globe Edition’ series. It has been edited from the original editions and manuscripts. It also includes a memoir by John W.Hales. It is a collection of works by Edmund Spenser, seen as one of the forefathers of English poetry, and was admired by the like of Keats, Milton and Yeats. It includes six books of the Faerie Queene, one of his best known works. Among the other works included in this edition are; Two Cantos of Mutabilitie, The Shepheards Calender and Amoretti and Epithalamion among others. Edmund Spenser (c. 1552 – 13 January 1599) was an important English poet best known for The Faerie Queene, an epic poem celebrating, through fantastical allegory, the Tudor dynasty and Elizabeth I. He is recognized as one of the premier craftsmen of Modern English verse in its infancy.
