His dramatic history of the Jewish War, however, a history of suicidal strife between rival gangsters and warring factions, and of incredible heroism achieving nothing but universal ruin and destruction, is a quite remarkable and powerful work. In this edition, the largely irrelevant and inevitably second-hand history of the two centuries preceding the war, has been omitted.
