The Jungle Book & The Second Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling

Joseph Rudyard Kipling (1865 – 1936) was one of the first Commissioners of Boy Scouts, a cause he remained devoted to. The Jungle Book was first published in book form in 1894; this text in based on the 1906 Edition with art work of the Detmold brothers. The Second Jungle Book was first published in book form in 1895; this text in based on the 1899 Edition with art work of Edward Detmold recreated in colour by David Eccles. The tales are fables in which the adventures of animals convey a sense of moral rectitude, became standard reading for the Cub Scouts.
