  1. Greetings,

I have a set of Charles Dickens collection. They are the Educational Book Co. Ltd, Illustrated by Harry Furniss and edited by J.A. Hammerton., but, volume 15 in missing. The books are not in the best shape and really show their age. I’m looking to sell the set. Any advice on how to go about doing this.

    Warmly ~Sharon

    1. This collection is only worth anything if in Very Good condition and is complete. You could try an ebay auction with a low starting price

  2. Please can you let me know where I could sell the 18 volume Charles Dickens collection. They are the Educational Book Co. Ltd, Illustrated by Harry Furniss and edited by J.A. Hammerton.

Could you also let me know approximately how much it is worth. I am interested in selling it.

Thank you for giving this inquiry your attention. A Mursch

    1. Thanks for your enquiry, this collection is saleable dependant on condition and you could expect £30-£40 from a dealer in the UK.

  3. I inherited this set from my great grand uncle. He has signed the first volume, Sketches by Boz etc. dated 1911.
I was wondering what their value might be?

    1. Hard to value anything without seeing it first. There is no great value here, but if the books are in Very Good condition they are still saleable.

  4. Hi I was hoping you could help me I have the complete collection in good condition considering its age and was wondering if you could tell me its value.
    Kind regards David

    1. It’s not easy giving a valuation without actually seeing the books as condition is the primary factor on this collection.
I would expect to pay £50 for a collection in mint condition.

  5. Please can you let me know where I could sell our 18 volume Charles Dickens collection. They are the Educational Book Co. Ltd, Illustrated by Harry Furniss and edited by J.A. Hammerton.
Could you also let me know how much we could sell this collection for.
    We live in South Africa

    1. I would recommend a local South African bookdealer as your best bet. I cannot give a valuation without actually seeing the books.

  6. Hi,

I have recently inherited the full set of these with a wooden rack which looks like it was made for the set. I was wondering if you knew the value of a full set in fairly good condition?

    Thank you

    1. Hi Nick You are correct in thinking that these books came with their own book rack. It is very difficult to give a valuation without actually seeing the books. The book rack itself is more of a hindrance because most people have their own storage they wish to use. There is a resale value in these books however it is not huge and largely depends on condition.

  7. Hi- I have a complete set of these – what would they be worth today?

    thank you

  8. Hello,
I just bought this set complete with the original bookcase (three shelves for teh books and a top ‘ornament’ shelf.
Top of pages is gilded. What sort of price should Ihave paid?

    1. Many thanks for your enquiry, I am sure that the price you paid was what you wanted to pay.
